Pritchard, a Georgia native, was well on his way to a promising future. He was considered the ninth-best defensive end prospect in the state of Georgia as reported by ESPN and was recruited by Memphis, Ole Miss and Virginia.

Pritchard elected to study criminal justice at UCF, where he received his bachelor’s degree, and later was accepted to graduate school.

He also served a vital role as a member of the Knights' football program, where he not only played on the scout team, but also as a reserve from 2008-2011.

On July 9, Pritchard's life changed dramatically, with the 22-year old suffering from uncontrollable seizures doctors later concluded were a result of a rare and massive stroke.

Close family and friends are turning to the UCF community for help on his road to recovery. Because his medical bills are totaling close to $300,000, they have set up a Facebook page, which can be found by searching for “Faith & Hope for Robert Pritchard.”

The Orlando Sentinel reported Monday afternoon that several Las Vegas oddsmakers have the University of Central Florida's football program marked as three point favorites in this Saturday's home match up with the University of Missouri.

Initially, the Black and Gold opened the week listed as a "pick'em game," with the contest against the Tigers considered too close to call and no point spread assigned.

Iliana Limon Romero notes that the Wynn, and SBC Global all now favor the Knights by three points, however, while the remainder of sports betting outlets based out of Las Vegas have yet to post their respective odds for the game.

Factoring into the odds released by the Wynn, and SBC Global is the Tigers' 31-10 road loss  to then No. 7 South Carolina this past weekend.

UCF, meantime, enters Saturday's contest coming off a bye week.

By Jason Roberts

Following a disappointing home showing against University of Texas – El Paso this past Friday, the University of Central Florida's volleyball team earned its first conference win of the season and first victory in seven games Sunday afternoon 3-1 on the road at Tulane University.

Playing an otherwise even match with the Green WaveUCF and Tulane were even in overall number of kills (52) and assists (48), while the Knights held a 54-53 advantage in terms of digs – the Black and Gold was ultimately able to outscore their opponent on the power of both their service and receiving game, as well as a combined 28 kills from redshirt junior Angelica Crump and sophomore Ashley Gialenios.

Plenty of distraction accompanied UCF on the first road trip of its Conference USA schedule, with head coach Todd Dagenais unable to travel with the team after being hospitalized following Friday's loss to the Miners.

Dagenais, notes UCF Athletics, was released from the hospital on Sunday and is expected to rejoin his team sometime this week.

A former player and graduate assistant for UCF head coach Donnie Jones while Jones was still at Marshall University, Williams also brings with him two years experience as assistant coach at West Virginia Tech.

Explained Williams to UCF Athletics Tuesday morning, "I am extremely excited to be at UCF. Having the opportunity to work here with Coach Jones and the assistant coaches who I know and trust is a great felling. Everyone on the staff has a role and I am glad that they trust me to get the job done."

Jones commented in kind about Williams, saying, "Adam is a bright, up-and-coming young man in the coaching profession. We are excited to have him as part of our basketball family. I was fortunate to be able to coach him and I am looking forward to working with Adam at UCF."

Williams, notes UCF Athletics, played at Marshall from 2007-09 and appeared in 51 contests, with 11 starts, this after beginning his career at the University of Kentucky and playing in eight games there between 2005-06.
